Owner/Lead Photographer

Her Beginning…

Since disposable cameras as a child, Stefanie has always had a camera in hand orchestrating images amongst family members. A creative entrepreneurial soul, she worried turning photography into a career would be too good to be true. In High School, she began photographing friends and family. Not too long after, was approached by people she did not know with the request to photograph them and their loved ones. Shortly after graduating and beginning to pursue a college degree, she officially began Stefanie Murphy Mediawhile only 18 years old.

Her Experience…

While in college, she continually balanced an internship, a full-time class schedule and her growing photography business. Stefanie earned a degree in the field of Marketing and Communications at Ramapo College of New Jerseyincluding her work in the school’s Marketing department assisting in social media campaigns and creating campus photography. Her college elective schedule included higher level photography classes and a written notice to bypass required lower level classes. After graduation, Stefanie was offered a position at a Marketing firm in Bergen County, New Jersey only to resign a few short months later to commit solely to her business, Stefanie Murphy Media.

Stefanie holds 9 years of experience in the portrait and event photography industry while still bearing a fresh eye on capturing her clients to offer a refreshing experience. She continues to photograph over 200 families and couples a year in Rockland County, New York and surrounding areas in the Hudson Valley and Bergen County while ensuring the experience is individual to each one of her clients.

Her process…

Her clients naturally develop a relationship with her as she guides them from planning for their session or special day all until the final moment where she allows them to hold their favorite images professionally printed and bound into heirloom albums and custom wall art designs.

Stefanie’s approach to portraits is to guide her subjects to display organic interaction with each other instead of posing stiff, repetitive images for each session. Everyone has a legacy, everyone has moments they wish they could relive. Stefanie’s images freeze these moments into portrait form, relived for generations.
